Many of us have great ambitions - great dreams and plans that we wish to achieve, but when it comes to putting into practice very few of us can stand.
I am not talking about starting a project and failing, I am talking about those who don't even start something. They have series of plans and talking, but nothing is established. It is much better to start something and fail, than not starting at all. Because as you fail, you earn a lesson, you earn experience, however, I don't mean you must just start a project recklessly. You must take risks, but only calculated risks.
Many reasons can be put forward as to why people fail to start turning their great ideas into real life projects. Here are a few most common reasons and how to address them:
You are too busy:
You seem too busy to undertake necessary procedures or actions which can make your dream or idea come true. May be, your idea requires you to put something in writing. May be your idea requires you to do some research or conduct meetings with certain people, or do window shopping and actual purchase of materials and you seem to be too busy with other things that make it impossible to do those necessary activities that will make your project start.
Fear of getting loss :
You might have every reasons to do your project, you might have done all what is necessary to put your project in place, but one thing left is that you fear losses. You think the project will not materialize profitably. And so, you ignore to start. May be past experience is a reason for this or you might have seen or heard someone else did the same project and failed, so you tell yourself - you will also fail.
You don't have enough resources:
You don't fear losses and you have necessary time to start your project. You believe your project is good but still you think you don't have enough resources to start it. You tell yourself ''let me take might time first to accumulate 'enough' resources so that your project can be a successful one''.
You are not sure whether it is the right thing or not
You might have necessary resources and you believe in your project, but you are battling in your head on whether it is right thing to do or not. You may be thinking about the effect it can have on your personal life, how people may interpret you or how it can affect other people around you. You give yourself time to evaluate this, and as you take your time to evaluate this, the real project is not starting. Time will pass, in the end, you lose motivation which causes you not to do the project any more.
You feel it doesn't worth a try
Your ego tells you the project is not your type because it is too small for you. Or comparing with others who did some 'big' projects you think this one is just not right for you.
In other cases, you may think the project is too big for you, it is for ' a big fish', and you are a small fish.
Combination of all of the above reasons:
In extreme cases, you find yourself confronted by all situations outlined above. You have a project in mind but it is just too difficult for you to start.
IF YOU HAVE NOT STARTED YOUR DREAM PROJECT , Ask yourself today, what is making you not to start it.
